Good news, that’s what! The Cathedral Arts Apartments have begun! We are having a “Start of Construction” ceremony on Thursday, June 8 at 1PM. The mayor and archbishop are scheduled to attend.
The property is owned by a joint venture entity established in partnership between MHT Housing Inc. and the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament. It will be managed by MHT Management, LLC — one of the largest individual landlords in Detroit with 30,000 residents in a variety of developments throughout the state.
The Cathedral Arts Apartments will feature one four-story building with 53 two-bedroom units and approximately 6,000 square feet of commercial retail space. All of the apartment units will be low-income ranging from 30% of Area Median Income to 80% of Area Median Income. The approximate range of incomes serviced is $21,600 to $57,600. Sixteen of the units will be subsidized with Project Based Section-8 Vouchers from the Detroit Housing Commission, offering further affordability for these units.
