March 19, 2020 by Marian Bart

For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel:

By waiting and by calm you shall be saved,

in quiet and in trust shall be your strength. Isaiah 30:15

Updates from the Archdiocese regarding gatherings, safety, and procedures: Covid-19

Grief Resources: A helpful compilation for this season: Grieving in Christian Hope

Masses: Public Masses are taking place with safety protocols; here also is a listing of Televised and Livestreamed Masses.  At the Cathedral, we ask that everyone follow the most recent protocol issued by the archdiocese.

Online Opportunities:  Our own staff members extend to you these Virtual Offerings

Calming the Storm: Your physical, mental, and spiritual health are all important. Here’s one list of resources to help in these days;  or call 313-237-4646.

Recommended prayers: Spiritual Closeness

Private Prayer: At this time the church is still open for private (safe, distanced) prayer during office hours.  Admittance is through the office entrance.

Weddings and Funerals:  Weddings and funerals are taking place with safety protocols. Please connect directly with Mary Morasso for wedding questions or Christine Broses for funeral questions.

Food: Neighbors of the Cathedral most in need, please stop by the parking lot on the third Saturday of the month (March -November) for the monthly food pantry event held by Reverend Ross.  Anticipated start time is 9 AM; social distancing policies will be in effect. There are plans for it to be more stocked than usual to help in this extraordinary time. This plan could change without notice based on directions from our state and national leaders.  Others in zip code 48202 or registered members of our parish who need assistance, please call 313-883-2869 and leave a very clear message with a name and address.  We will do what we can when we can.
