The Cathedral stewards a large collection of artifacts dating back to the earliest apostles and saints. Each relic has been examined and authenticated by experts at the Vatican. Such relics provide hope, comfort, and even healing to those who pray in their presence. They offer the chance to personally experience miracles of faith. We are working on establishing a museum-quality permanent display to ensure that all of these precious artifacts become available to all the faithful who seek a spiritual awakening or renewal, physical or emotional healing, and/or a deeper personal connection with God.
We now have a central feature of our relic exhibit open to the public. A first-class (bone) relic of each Apostle is accompanied by beautiful signage and fourteen stunning, larger-than-life statues: 12 apostles and 2 angels. Each statue, originally housed inside St. Benedict’s in Highland Park (which unfortunately closed), has been restored and installed in the Cathedral. This is a remarkable opportunity for the faithful to be able to see, venerate, and spend time in a special way with this group of early New Testament saints.
Visitors without reservations may choose to stop by our office during our office hours (listed here) to inquire about spending time with the Apostles. Admittance will be given if and when the cathedral is available, and not during times when pilgrims with reservations have a booking.
Please keep in mind that the office being open does not guarantee that the cathedral itself is available; it is also used for Masses, exposition, weddings, funerals, ordinations, concerts, retreats, maintenance work, and more.
