Online Candle Lighting

June 15, 2020 by Staff

You are invited to light a candle at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament for your special intentions, and you can invite others to do the same — online!

Lighting a candle as we pray is a longstanding tradition in the Catholic Church. Candles recall our history as desert wanderers led by a holy pillar of fire. They remind us of the Light who is Jesus Christ.  Tiny tongues of fire present to us again the descent of the Holy Spirit. The smoke rising to Heaven reminds our senses that the saints’ prayers rise to God’s throne in a similar way, and the act of their burning is a small, beautiful sacrifice.

We consider it an honor to light a candle for you and pray for your intentions.  Each intention will be personally prayed with – and kept strictly confidential – at our Monday staff prayer meeting.

Please use the form found on our Candle Lighting page.

Thank you for your generous and prayerful support. No offering is required for prayer. If you are unable to make a candle donation at this time, you may submit a prayer request through the related webpage.
