The Archdiocesan Singers are a group of about 50 singers including the Cathedral Choir, as well as organists, music directors, and cantors from the Archdiocese of Detroit and beyond. Depending on the musical need and availability, they sing in various formations for Archdiocesan liturgies, concerts, and special events. Their regular schedule will include ordinations, Chrism Mass, Corpus Christi, and other Diocesan celebrations, as well as concerts, or the annual Festival of Lessons & Carols.
The repertoire ranges from Gregorian and Ambrosian chant to the masterworks of the Catholic Church throughout the ages. Most recently they have embarked on a discovery tour of music by the composer Rene Becker, the first organist and music director at our Cathedral from 1930-1947.
