Dear Cathedral Family,
This weekend’s readings remind us that God continually draws us closer to Himself and to one another. St. Paul writes, “God has reconciled you… to present you holy and without blemish” (Col 1:21-23), and today’s Psalm proclaims, “God himself is my help; the Lord sustains my life” (Ps 54). In the Gospel, Jesus declares that “the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath” (Lk 6:5), inviting us to focus not only on rules but on relationship, with Him and with each other.
At the Cathedral, we live out this Gospel through service, walking alongside our neighbors who are struggling and offering hope where it’s needed most. One way we do this is through the Serving Our Neighbor (SON) Fund, which provides critical assistance to individuals and families in Detroit. Whether it’s helping with rent, keeping utilities connected, or covering urgent needs, the SON Fund reflects Christ’s call to love and serve one another. Your generosity makes this work possible, and there are two meaningful ways to participate:
- Give directly to the SON Fund by scanning the QR code below and choosing it from the dropdown. Every dollar goes straight to helping our
neighbors in need. - Support through CSA; any gifts above our parish goal this year will go directly toward the SON Fund and our broader outreach efforts in the community. You can scan the QR code below and choose CSA.
Through your prayers, your service, and your generosity, we strengthen the Cathedral’s mission and make Christ’s love tangible in the heart of Detroit. Thank you for being a vital part of this ministry.
In Christ,
Andy Kudwa – Mission Support Director
