There is no doubt about it, we as a people struggle with mental health crises and concerns among our own, family, friends, and of course folks we don’t know. And the unending question is, “With so many crises, what can I even do about it? It’s so overwhelming.”
Let us not be overcome with “what can I do about it?” Rather, let’s get in the boat with Jesus!
In these past few months, Michael and I have introduced the Mental Health Ministry and have invited our family of parishes’ members to prayerfully consider participating in this ministry. And now the time has come. The Mental Health Ministry’s first meeting is on Sunday, August 28, at noon, in ROOM A, after the 11 AM Mass at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. This will be a time to meet with each other, perhaps even share our reasons for our interest in the ministry, and certainly to establish next steps as we move forward.
For those who have committed to attending the meeting already, thank you. If you are interested in participating in this very important work of the church, please give us a call or email us.
