Jottings from Fr. J.J. – Welcome

August 7, 2025 by Fr. J.J. Mech

WELCOME Katie!

If you have been through the Cathedral offices as of late, you may have been greeted by a new smiling face! My assistant Christine Broses will be retiring at the end of the month — You will hear about that in more detail later! — so we now have Katie Tremblay as part of the Cathedral team to help keep things moving forward here at the Mother Church.

Katie is very familiar with the Catholic Church. She became a Catholic in 2007 and has basically worked in the Catholic Church full time ever since. She has earned her stripes by working down at the Archdiocese of Detroit Chancery (the “headquarters” of the AOD) and most recently helped Archbishop Weisenburger get installed and settle into his new role. So please give Katie a warm greeting and make her feel appreciated as the newest member of the Cathedral family. It wouldn’t hurt to pray for her too, since she has to work with me on a daily basis!

God Bless,

Fr. J.J.
