Welcome to the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, the seat of the Archbishop of Detroit and the mother church of the Archdiocese. As our mother church, the Cathedral is the center of our community of faith.
At the Cathedral, Archbishop Allen Vigneron welcomes new Catholics, ordains new priests and deacons, administers the sacrament of confirmation, and celebrates the Chrism Mass as well as the liturgies of the Sacred Triduum. Special masses are also celebrated at the cathedral each year for groups such as school children, the sick and their caregivers, and more.
The Cathedral is also home to a parish community of disciples — clustered together with the parish of St. Moses the Black — who gather here to worship, serve, learn, and receive the sacraments on a very regular basis.
