Join The Battle!

August 30, 2019 by Marian Bart

The Cathedral Parish is hitting the streets for door to door evangelization!  The archbishop has said on numerous occasions that ‘God wants His world back’, and we are beginning that Missionary Invasion by reclaiming the Cathedral Parish boundaries.  The battle map is set – our borders (roughly) are the train tracks to the East, Lawton to the West, Glendale to the North, and Grand Boulevard to the South.  The people in our boundaries rightly belong to our parish and we want to invite them back.  There are three levels of involvement which you can participate:

  • Infantry – This is the actual footwork of going door to door. The objectives are really simple and less intimidating than what it sounds.  We simply bring the love of Christ to each door, and offer an invitation to Mass, or to check out Alpha, then after we listen to them and engage in a dialogue, we ask if they are in need of any prayers.  Prayers can be prayed on the spot for them if they are open to that experience, and/or prayers can be written down and placed before our Lord in the tabernacle where our Air Support is interceding on our behalf.
  • Air Support – During the door to door ministry, we will have a team at the Cathedral praying in front of the tabernacle for the people whom we will encounter, for all in our boundaries, and for the ministers. This is of vital importance and is sending Our Lord before us to prepare hearts, prior to even knocking on the first door.
  • Reconnaissance – To be a recon soldier you can be involved in the mission at your own discretion. Please commit to praying for the people in our parish boundary, and all involved with the ministry.  Send your Guardian Angel to prepare people, pray the St. Michael prayer and ask for his heavenly assistance, ask Our Lady to watch over and protect us, and ultimately that we do this in love and service to Jesus and His Holy Catholic Church.

The kickoff plan is to hit the streets Sunday September 22 after Mass.  For more information please contact Rob Moilanen in person or through Marian Bart at 313-883-2869.
