Today in love, we lift up all fathers of the world. We honor them for the selfless love they demonstrate day after day. Fathers are providers, caregivers, mentors, and so much more. They play an integral role in the lives of their children, laying the foundation upon which future generation will stand.
Although Father’s Day is a secular holiday it doesn’t have to be celebrated as such. Recognizing the impact dads have on the spiritual life of their families, I would suggest the greatest gift we can give them is our prayers. Furthermore there is nothing more profound than the witness of a dad leading his family in prayer.
Remarkably, God our Creator, entrusts us with the care of his beloved little ones. His confidence is personified in the beautiful example of Fatherhood found in the life of St. Joseph. Our Heavenly Father, entrusted his Son Jesus, to the care of this earthly father, a humble carpenter from Nazareth.
Today let us pray through the intercession of St. Joseph, asking God’s abundant blessings upon all fathers, as they care for their families. Give them strength and wisdom, patience and humility. Protect and defend them in their work, guide their decisions, and bring them safely home. Amen
Direct your children onto the right path and when they are older, they will not leave it. Proverbs 22:6
