CSA 2023

May 6, 2023 by Fr. Mario Amore

While fundraising for the larger archdiocesan initiatives might not always be the most appealing of topics, we should always view it through the perspective of mission. Our communities may be small, but we know that our efforts help to ‘fuel the mission’ of Unleashing the Gospel here in the City of Detroit and beyond.

The theme for this year’s appeal is, “Go and announce the Gospel of the Lord.” It reminds us that, in this time of Eucharistic Revival in our nation, the gift of Jesus in the Eucharist is the cornerstone of our efforts to share the Good News of the Gospel with those in our communities.

Each year, the Catholic Services Appeal provides us an opportunity to celebrate the ways our Church in Detroit responds to the material and spiritual needs of individuals, families, and communities. One parish alone could not meet these many needs. It is through the sharing of our gifts and our service that we, together, can be the Church Christ wants us to be.

The Catholic Services Appeal benefits parishes and people in the Archdiocese of Detroit by helping to fund more than 170 ministries, programs, and services, including: discipleship, evangelization, catechesis and education, pro-life ministries, campus ministries, clergy and consecrated life, cultural ministries, priestly vocations, Catholic Schools, mission and outreach, stewardship, the metropolitan tribunal, mission grants, Sacred Heart Major Seminary, Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, support for financially limited parishes, and national collections to support the Church throughout the world.

All registered parishioners should be receiving CSA materials through the mail. The best way to give is online. Be sure to select your parish from the drop-down box when donating. While we highly encourage you to donate online or by using the mail-in form that you receive, you can also drop a check in the regular collection made out to Archdiocese of Detroit—CSA and we will be sure to mail your check.

As a reminder, anything raised above our parish goal of $20,564 stays right here in the parish. If we do not reach out goal, the difference still must be paid from parish savings.

We appreciate all that you do to support the work of the Church in Detroit. We simply couldn’t do it without you! If you are not able to make a donation at this time, please participate as a prayer warrior for this initiative.

With our gratitude,

Fr. Mario Amore, Fr. J.J. Mech, Fr. John Owusu, Fr. Godfrey Mgonja
