THE ONLY THING CONSTANT IS CHANGE!: The sad news is that we have to say goodbye to Josylin Mateus who has worked with us for the past year. Jo has a teen daughter and wanted to work closer to home. She accepted a job at a parish in her hometown. Please pray for her.
The good news is that one of our own is picking up the baton. Yvonne Graves, who has volunteered in our cluster in numerous areas, will be our new Coordinator of Discipleship Formation (whew, that is a mouthful). No matter what her title is, Yvonne will be overseeing the Baptism, Confirmation, First Eucharist, Vacation Bible School, Ongoing Adult Faith Formation, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, and Youth Ministry programs within our Cluster. This is clearly a big job, so she needs our help. I invite you to step up to the plate and offer your gifts. We want to make sure that all we are doing within our cluster is what the Lord wants it to be. We will be hearing from Yvonne often. She will be swinging by all of the liturgies this weekend, so give her a big welcome and introduce yourself. We will be hearing from Yvonne often. OFF AND RUNNING: This past week we got a new saint, we unofficially said goodbye to summer, we celebrated our Cluster Retreat, and we prayed for 24 hours for the success of the Year of Mercy. Hopefully all this will motivate us to have an awesome year. Parishes tend to have a rhythm. While things may slow a bit in the summer, the fall, winter, and spring is where we get the majority of the work done. Our parish councils start meeting again, our finance councils inform us of what is happening with our monies, our commissions give us direction, RCIA formation begins, the religious ed. program for kid’s goes into full swing, other ministries return, etc., etc. We want you! We need you! I encourage you to step up to the plate and share your many talents. Where? That depends on what the Spirit is telling you. Pray, ask, listen, and get involved. Just imagine how much better your life will be at this time next year if you do so. Just imagine how much better our cluster will be at this time next year if you do so. On behalf of our Lord, I want to thank you for saying “yes”.
God Bless,
Fr. J.J.
