Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament Welcomes You!
Welcome to the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, the seat of the Archbishop of Detroit and the mother church of the Archdiocese of Detroit. As our mother church, the Cathedral is the center of our community of faith.
At the cathedral, Archbishop Allen Vigneron welcomes new Catholics, ordains new priests and deacons, administers the sacrament of confirmation, and celebrates the Chrism Mass as well as the liturgies of the Sacred Triduum. Special masses are also celebrated at the cathedral each year for groups such as school children, police officers, and those preparing for the sacrament of marriage.
The cathedral is also home to a parish community of disciples who gather here to worship, serve, learn, and receive the sacraments on a very regular basis – clustered together under the same pastors as the parishes of St. Moses the Black and Our Lady of the Rosary.
